I was privileged to help out Heidi and Ian with their wedding - we had a great time and they are a beautiful couple. I thought I would post a few pics here that I took at the temple. It was a beautiful day!

Quite a Crowd!

The Winterton's were gracious hosts for quite a get-together for the New Year! It was so fun to be together with everyone.

Both Cindi and Lisa served with me in Stake Young Women's. It was great to be together. Cindi's kids are getting so big and she is expecting her 5th! I dearly remember when Russell was born in New Hampshire. Cindi and I spent many hours in the car driving to and from Stake activities and meetings and got really close while she was here. It is always good to see her and get caught up.
There was quite a crowd! Winterton family including Chris and Chels (we missed you Chey!), Kane family, Pedersens, Riddles, Bostons, Brian's mom, and her brother Uncle Tracy from Wyoming, Chris's girlfriend, Lisa's mom Millie and her friend. I think that is 20 in all!

Lisa and Greg outdid themselves with Prime Rib to die for, and lots of other goodies to eat. The house was hopping and Cindi's kids want to move to the Winterton's house cause it is the coolest house ever. I agree!

Time Out for Women, Philly style

This trip was awesome! A most excellent weekend! So fun! Here's a couple of pics, but they just don't tell the whole exciting story.


It was a LOOOONG car ride down (think forgotten items, construction delays, lots of holiday traffic) and an even longer ride home (think breaking down in NYC!) Still it was all worth it! An inspirational and motivational day, lots of attention for sweet baby Lillian, and Chubby's Cheesesteaks. Family and friends rounded out the trip and we had a ball.

The list

A couple of weeks ago we (Tyler and Maryellen, Larish and I) went to see "The Bucket List" looking for a fun time watching two old men live out their life fantasies before they die. Wow this movie was so much more than that. I think "bucket" also stands for what you need to catch the tears if you are a crybaby like me.
Morgan Freeman's character was loving and everybody's grandpa, and Jack Nicholson's character was just what you would expect, a crotchedy mean old rich guy. What was on their list? See something majestic. Do something to help a stranger for good. Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world. Get in touch. Go skydiving. Drive a Shelby 350. Hunt the big cat. etc. etc.
It certainly did make us think - so much so that we had to head over to Friendly's for Hot Fudge Sundaes to sit and discuss our own bucket lists. What is it that we would put on our list? (We all agreed we need some rich guy to finance our lists.)
Larish - go on a Windjammer Cruise
Tyler - Bike across the country (west to east), Hike the Appalachian Trail
Maryellen - Go to Ireland and Hawaii, Visit the Grand Canyon
Sue - Go on an African Safari (I decided the one at Busch Gardens would do!), Drive along the Gaspe Peninsula, Visit the Grand Canyon (I smell a Grand Canyon trip Thelma and Louise!)

Have we changed much? Maybe the color of our hair? Maybe that Larry and I got smart and we got IN THE BACK so we are HIDDEN in 2008! I found this pic from our visit to Maggiano's in 2006!

Martin Luther King Celebration reported in Boston

Every year for the last four or five years we have gotten together with our friends the Shaw's and the McEvoys to celebrate Marting Luther King Day. It is a tradition that started by accident and we had so much fun it has continued. One year Linda wimped out because of the snow and we celebrated in Sanford, but every other year we have traveled to Boston to celebrate in style.


We always go to Maggiano's, an Italian restaurant that serves family style. It is so yummy, we love it.
We have tried taking the T in, (usually too cold), we talk of taking the Amtrak train in (too expensive) but we usually drive and park in the parking garage over the restaurant. Us girls are waiting for the guys to catch up in the Parking Garage.


We honor Reverend King and his work by stopping at this statue and reflect on Lincoln and the Emancipation. This statue is a duplicate of one in Washington DC.


Note that Lincoln's hand is on the Emancipation Proclamation.


It says "A Race Set Free and the country at peace. Lincoln rests from his labors." I personally think this statue is a little demeaning. Oh well, it adds meaning to our little getaway.

This year we stopped at the Kennedy Library. It was too late to go see the exhibits, but we walked around and visited the gift shop. I hope to go there soon, it looks interesting.


Mostly we just pig out and have a good time.
